I have just published a Limited edition (950 copies only) book on the 1970 IOW Pop Festival called "The Last Great Event"
http://www.cwiw.co.uk/New_Book.html over 150 pages in A4 landscape with over 150 photos.
I worked on site for 3 weeks as one of only 3 full time electricians and was the only serious photographer to record the whole event as. All the press guys only arrived on the Wednesday for the 5 days of music. This is a complete photographic record of the whole event as seen through the lens of my camera. Remember I was there to work as an electrician and had access to a lot of areas the press were not able to get into. Most importantly my photographs were not taken to sell tabloid newspapers of the time, but a true view of how things unfolded at that time. This is not written like other books as a look back through rose tinted spectacles or about my own reminisces coloured and elaborated on over 40 years of time but a true photographic record of how it was. There is also the complete photographic record (in colour) of all Dave Roe's art work for ALL the tickets and special site passes (Caters, Groups, Press etc) both posters, programme and all the special tickets produced for that festival etc. As far as I am aware this is the first time all of Dave Rows art work has been published together.
These are now going out quite quickly, so if you are thinking about buying one, "dont leave it too long"
NB THERE WILL NOT BE ANOTHER PRINT RUN, THIS IS A 950 LIMITED EDITION ONLY, ONCE THEY ARE GONE THATS IT FINISHED, THERE WILL NOT BE ANY MORE. http://www.cwiw.co.uk/index.htmlChris Weston
